But have no fear, you can still download apps through iTunes

It would appear that Apple would rather you didn't import the iPad.

In fact, it's making sure people know it doesn't want its new device flying out of America - by blocking the App Store outside of the US.

Pocket Lint is reporting that users who have imported the iPad are finding access to the App Store via their iPad is denied.

When connecting to the store, the iPad displays the error: "Cannot Connect to the App Store: The App Store is not supported in this country."

Fortunately for importers, all is not lost - it's still possible to download iPad apps through iTunes on your PC or Mac, then sync them onto the iPad.

Hopefully, once the iPad is released globally, the App Store will become available to those who imported.
