The iPad doesn't have a camera. It's best to to face up to the facts and come to terms with it sooner rather than later.

Instead, Apple suggests you take your fancy digital camera on the road with you and hook it up to the tablet when you want to show off your holiday snaps on the tablet's 9.7-inch display.

Okay, the iPad doesn't have a USB port or an SD card reader either. Come to terms with that, too.

If you're really tenacious in your quest to stick digital photos on your iPad, you'd better man up and open your wallet. The iPad Camera Connection Kit has finally shown up on Apple's store for pre-order and it's going to set you back $29 (£20).

The kit features a pair of dongles with connections for SD cards and USB cables/sticks, and will ship "late April". Whether or not us Europeans will see the camera connection kit in time for our belated launch remains to be seen.
