Second-generation iPad rumours resurface: OLED screen, different sizes
No price information
Electric Pig is reporting a couple of rumours about the second-generation iPad. As with all rumours, take them with a grain of salt.
The first relates to a screen change. The new iPad is rumoured to have an OLED screen, replacing the LCD screen found on the current models. If you're unsure what an OLED screen is, it's essentially a less power-hungry LCD, but it costs more, and has far more colour depth to it, providing a far richer image than the current iPad.
That's not quite it, though. The site also reports that the second-generation iPad will also come in multiple sizes in order to compete with the e-reader market. The sizes are rumoured to be 9.7 inches (like the current iPad), 5.6 inches, and 7 inches.
No prices are rumoured, but it's probably safe to assume that the smaller models will also be cheaper.
