We know pretty much everything we want to know about how the iPad will work. Now all we need to know is when and how we're going to get our fingerprints all over its lovely, lovely touchscreen.

Apple's COO Tim Cook has been speaking at the Goldman Sachs annual tech conference, and revealed that the iPad will be coming to our US kin folk in a similar manner to which the iPhone was rolled out - through Apple's own stores, online, and through assisted sales partners.

The only one he mentioned by name, however, was retail giant Best Buy, which was one of the first venues to stock the iPhone.

He also suggested that the number of retail locations will expand over time, which presumably will break away from the iPhone sales route since the iPad won't require any mobile operator deals.

From what Cook said, the iPad is also expected to hit similar high street shops and online locations overseas to the iPhone and iPod touch. Now all we need is a definite date.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
