Steering wheel concept accessory for iPad

Apple opened up the floor to iPhone accessories when version 3.0 of the firmware went live, but we've not really seen any good ones appearing. The iPad is promised two accessories by Steve Jobs, but, again, not much that would really blow a gamer's skirt up.

Yanko Design has come up with a concept accessory that does look pretty intriguing, though - a steering wheel attachment for the iPad.

I do think the iPad will offer some great gaming experiences, though I've yet to be convinced that driving games will be one of them. The size of the iPad really doesn't lend itself easily to acting as a virtual steering wheel (find out for yourself right here), though fitting it inside the iDrift could really help out.

Don't expect to see one of these on the shelf next to the iPad on launch day, but if you're very good, maybe we'll come up with a home-made version so you can spin your expensive new touchscreen around in greater comfort.
