EA iPad sale: Need for Speed: Shift and Command & Conquer: Red Alert
Games going chEAp
The iPad versions of EA's Need for Speed: Shift and Command & Conquer: Red Alert have been reduced in price today.
Need for Speed: Shift is an intense arcade racer that's impressed critics with its slick graphics and precise - if far from lifelike - car handling.
Pocket Gamer's own Tracy Erickson awarded the iPhone version of Need for Speed: Shift a prestigious Pocket Gamer Gold Award, praising its in-depth customisation options.
This iPad version has been fine-tuned to pack a wealth of extras under its hood. Among these are the option of a first-person view and eight exclusive new cars, including the Bugatti Veyron 16.4, Koenigsegg CCX, Lexus LF-A Concept, and Nissan GT-R (R35).
It's out on the App Store now for $9.99 / £5.99 / €7.99.
Comman & Conquer: Red Alert is shiny new HD rendition of the RTS classic, and is now half price at $4.99 / £2.99 / €3.99.
This version comes loaded with extras, including six extra skirmish maps, HD graphics, and larger map views.
The iPhone version of Command & Conquer: Red Alert bagged a Bronze Award at review, with Tracy saying:
"Despite its lack of depth and a myriad of minor flaws, Command & Conquer: Red Alert succeeds in its objective of accessible real-time strategy with good controls and even better graphics".
Both games are available on the App Store now.
