Old-fashioned planes are all the rage nowadays. After Sid Meier's biplane battles sim Ace Patrol swooped onto the App Store last week, you see, here comes another.

In Come2You's forthcoming action-packed MMO World of Aircraft, you take on the role of a gung ho WWII pilot and step into the cockpit of one of 28 different classic planes, upgrading your equipment as you go.

At the heart of the game are the PvP battles, but there are single-player missions to complete, too.

To begin with, you'll be able to fly around seven different environments in World of Aircraft. And, according to Come2You, there's more where they came from.

Come2You isn't giving much away about the size or scope of those environments, mind, though the terrain is apparently going to play a big part in the gameplay. This mean you'll be able to take down your opponents without firing a shot.

The proof of the massively multiplayer online pudding is always in the eating, of course. And while World of Aircraft undeniably looks the part, Come2You doesn't have much pedigree when it comes to expansive multiplayer-focused action games.

In fact, it doesn't appear to have any pedigree at all. World of Aircraft is its first game.

And it would be remiss of me not to point out that World of Aircraft bears a striking resemblance to Wargaming.net's PC MMO World of Warplanes.

If you're willing to take a punt on a newbie iOS developer, however, World of Aircraft is set to descend onto the App Store on May 22nd. It will initially be available for 69p / 99c.
