Gaming on your phone or tablet doesn't have to be a lonely experience. Titles like the Gold award-winning duo of Slamjet Stadium and Ring Fling demonstrate that point perfectly.

Joining that illustrious company is Tug of Gore, a multiplayer iPad title in which you and three friends try to pull a squishy green alien into the waiting mouths of your monsters.

Designed and built by a superstar team of Dutch developers over a 48-hour period at the Global Game Jam earlier in the year, Tug of Gore is now available on the App Store.

Each player is positively encouraged to use one hand to pull at "Gore", and one hand to try and put off fellow competitors. Suggestions for dirty tricks you can try are even made on the loading screen.

Tapping your monster makes its pull stronger. The problem is that you need to stop tugging in order to tap, thus giving the upper hand to the other players.

If all that has piqued your interest, you'll be overjoyed to discover that Tug of Gore is free for a limited time. So, if you're quick, you can try it out for nowt.

You can grab Tug of Gore from the App Store right now.
