Tricky Test 2 review - WarioWare on mobile?

Tricky Test 2 is a combination of Wario Ware and a logic puzzler, all wrapped up into a neat little package.

Its sleek style is ultra-charming, and although the puzzles can be outright ridiculous at times, it's hard to stay mad at Tricky Test 2 for long.

Riddle me this

The game starts you off with a very brief, clever tutorial that doesn't hold your hand for too long. The aim of the game is not to be tricked, but as its name suggests, Tricky Test 2 is very good at doing just that.

You'll be faced with 60 cerebral puzzles, some requiring deft logic, while others are just a bit of silly fun. Puzzles employ tricky wordplay to keep you second guessing.

Tricky Test 2

Tricky Test 2 occasionally requires you to use your phone in clever ways to solve problems. You'll tap, pull, swipe, speak, and shake your phone to solve problems. The feeling of accomplishment when you sort out a particularly gnarly riddle is quite the high.

Trivial Pursuit

Things get more difficult, and a bit more ridiculous, the further you progress. But although Tricky Test 2 can be quite deceptive, it's also forgiving. You have five lives, and you'll lose one for each incorrect answer.

If you're stuck, you have the option to spend some coin on a clue, and if that doesn't bail you out, you can see the answer for an additional coin. You're given a considerable amount of money to start with, so you can seek out these clues quite liberally if need be.

There'll come a time when you run out of lives though, and you'll have to pay to revive yourself. If you're unwilling to pay up, you can rewind a few levels and start from there instead.

Tricky Test 2

Tricky Test 2 could be quite the frustrating experience, but the level of leniency granted encourages you to keep playing.

The best kind of test

Tricky Test 2's? clever puzzle design builds you up, making you feel like a logical mastermind. It's also a great exercise in creative thinking, having you second guessing a puzzle's meaning while flipping, speaking to, and blowing into your phone to unlock the cryptic answer.

The game does have a few head-scratchers that are sometimes designed to make you fail. Yet the game's clever design, charming sense of humor, and forgiving rewind system will have you itching for more puzzling rather than throwing your phone at the wall.
