Here are 3 mobile board games you should be playing this Independence Day

Since it's the fourth of July, we thought it'd be a good idea to look at some of the digital board games that capture the spirit of America. Or, in other words, I wanted to write about some board games that had cowboys in them.

This is by no-means an exhaustive list, but if you're looking for something to play to celebrate the fact that another Independence Day has almost passed without an alien invasion, you're not going to go far wrong with any of these.

A brilliant game of stagecoach robbery, cards, and punching at the space where a person used to be. It uses a clever card mechanic that requires you to think about where your opponents are going to be after their turn.

It looks gorgeous, and of all the board game adaptations available for mobile, it's one of the most accessible and action packed. Plus cowboys. Yay for cowboys.

More cowboys! This one isn't an adaptation though, it's a digital-first experience. It takes chess, adds stetsons, throws in some ideas from the Go games, and comes out with something pretty damn special.

It might not be super deep, but it's still a wonderfully absorbing experience that fizzes and clicks when it needs to. Definitely worth picking up if you haven't already.

Ever wanted to own a train line that runs the breadth of America? Well Ticket to Ride: First Journey lets you do just that. It's a pared down, more user friendly version of the classic board game that young kids will be able to grasp.

Essentially, if you're looking for a game to play with the whole family this Independence Day then you're going to be hard pressed to find a better one than this.
