One of the most enjoyable - if exhausting parts - of GDC 2013 was the Big Indie Pitch.

Organised and scheduled by Jeff Scott from 148Apps (or the school master as we now call him), it combined 24 game developers and 10 journalists into a busy 2 hour period.

That meant just 5 minutes per game but even within those constraints, we saw some gems.

Welcome back

Technically, though, our meeting with Jennifer from Nyamyam Games was a repeat performance following from our original hands-on with its impressive Tengami back in 2012.

A quick recap - Nyamyam was set up by three developers (including Jennifer), who previously worked at well known console studio Rare.

They've been working on Tengami, which style-wise is based on Japanese art pop-up books, for the past couple of years.

During the pitch, we saw the ocean-themed part of the game. Last time, Jennifer was showing the forest section.

Looking good

As is always mentioned by everyone, Tengami is a stunning-looking and sounding game.

It's based on dark fairy tales, with you controlling a paper character, moving him around the environments with a double tap, and solving puzzles by manipulating the paper-based environment.

Really, my wonky camera work does not do the game any justice at all.

Still, it's coming out this summer for iOS, then onto PC and Mac, so we expect to be writing more about it soon.
