Tappy Chicken is a Flappy Bird clone created by Gears of War developer and Infinity Blade publisher Epic Games.

Now, you may be thinking that of all studios, Epic Games certainly doesn't need to cash in on the Flappy Bird phenomenon.

You'd be right. According to the game's description, Tappy Chicken was created by a single artist at Epic Games in order to showcase the flexibility of Unreal Engine 4.

"Tappy Chicken is the perfect showcase for the ease of use and flexibility of Unreal Engine 4," Epic said.

"While it may not flex the full graphical muscle of the engine, it shows how almost anyone can make a fun and pretty game fit for mobile devices and web browsers."

The point that Epic is making is that you can use Unreal Engine 4 to create games even if you don't have experience.

Previous showcases of the engine have been highly-detailed "next-gen" animations. Tappy Chicken is almost the polar opposite of that - a lightweight 2D mobile game.

If you really don't have enough Flappy Bird clones in your life, you can download Tapppy Chicken for free on the App Store [download] and Google Play [download].

Unreal Engine 4 can be purchased from the Unreal Engine website.
