Programmer turned sheep streamer Jeff Minter makes Gridrunner and Super Ox Wars free forever

Veteran game developer and sheep live-streamer Jeff Minter has said that a pair of his iOS games will now be available for free, forever.
First up is reimagined Commodore 64 shooter Gridrunner - a taut, manic blaster that we said offered "conclusive proof that retro games can still mix it up with modern releases".
And then there's Super Ox Wars - a vertical shmup about swapping colours that's inspired by games like Star Force and Ikaruga. We called this one "a feast for both the eyes and the fingers."

Minter told Pocket Gamer that "they are way past making any money so why not just let people play them?"
Unfortunately, we probably won't see anymore iOS games from Minter, who described the App Store, in 2014, as a "wasteland, full of poison" and said that returning to it "would be like returning to the scene of a mugging".
He's still working on Android, mind. But his planned Android port of Vita epic TxK had to be cancelled because Atari blocked the game on the grounds that it was too close to Tempest - a series that Minter once worked on.
