Updated on September 6th, at 10:18pm: The open world adventure Submerged is out now on iPad and iPhone.
For £3.99 / $4.99, you can enjoy this story-driven blend of platforming and exploration through a flooded cityscape.

More than a year after our own Mark Brown previewed the game at GDC 2015, Uppercut Games' Submerged has now announced its release date and guess what? It's coming to the App Store this Wednesday 7th September.

You may recognise Submerged from a year ago when it launched on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and given its array of positive reviews and comments it'll hopefully have a positive reception with its mobile debut. Then again, when a team of former Bioshock developers get together and get inspired by Journey and Shadow of the Colossus, it's obvious something magical will happen.

Set in a strange, dystopian future global warming has flooded the world. You follow siblings Miku and Taku as they try and survive this watery landscape. What's interesting about the game is that, similar to Journey, there isn't any combat, leaving it as more of an exploratory and story-driven game.

Submerged will be a premium title available on iOS September 7th. We'll let you know when it drops.
