Staying Together is a lovely looking platformer with a twist. You're controlling two characters, not one, and their moves are mirrored. Move left with one and the other goes right.

You need to lead the pair of lovers through brief asymmetrical levels, and deposit them in a glowing area at the same time.

It's a bright, surprisingly taxing affair that, while not perfect, will keep you entertained for a good long while.

To me, to you

Each level starts the same way. The two main characters are separated by a series of obstacles and you need to bypass them, grabbing three gems along the way, and get to the glowing area to finish the challenge.

Things start off simply, with levels that match movements on both sides, but after a while you're tasked with leading the pair over different terrain, and things start to get a little tricky.

You need to push one character up against a wall while the other moves across the level, or time your leaps so one of them makes it up a level and the other avoids getting stabbed in the skull by an overhanging spike.

The levels are never super tough, but there's enough going on to make you scratch your head a little, especially when you factor in some annoyingly placed heart fragments. You don't need to collect them, but they add an extra layer to play.

For the kids

Staying Together is a good looking, well thought out platformer that pushes you to use your brain in a way it's not really used to. And that's pretty rare, especially for a game that doesn't cost anything.

Valentine's day might have been and gone, but if you're looking for a sweet, slightly kooky challenge, then you could do a lot worse than checking this out.
