Spooky Pop is a haunted free to play match-three puzzler from Supercell that's been soft launched just in time for the scariest time of the year – Christmas.

The game is available in Canada right now, and it sees you matching coloured blobs in order to ward off ghosts.

You've got a team of supernatural hunters along the bottom of the screen, and each of them has their own colour of gem.

Match three or more and the corresponding character will fire their ghost-destroying laser. Clear all the ghosts in a level and you move on to the next.

Obviously this being a free to play game there's an energy system, but everything is as polished as you'd expect from Supercell, and the puzzling is reasonably challenging as well.

Spooky?

Still, seems like the game has missed its perfect release date by just over a month. Unless you find the idea of a fat man crawling down your chimney with a sack full of magical gifts scary.

Actually that is quite scary.

Spooky Pop is available in Canada right now, and we'll let you know when it lands around the world.

If you fancy seeing what Supercell can do with things that aren't Clash of Clans, then it's probably worth a gander.
