Splot is a simple two-touch platformer from the developer of Trine that's just hit the App Store in New Zealand. By our deep calculations, that means it'll be out in the UK at midnight tonight.

The game sees you bouncing a blob through a series of tricky levels, trying to keep one step ahead of another, meaner blob the whole time.

There are things to collect and a star rating to show you how well you've done.

It's all pretty slick and shiny. You can check our hands-on with an earlier version of the game in the video above.

When Splot lands later tonight it should set you back £2.49 / $3.99. We'll have a review up on the site in a couple of days.
