The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition for iPad has received a double whammy of updates, with both its price and the number of bugs reduced with a new update.
Charting the first adventures of wannabe pirate Guybrush Threepwood, Monkey Island is widely considered to be one the shining lights in the recently resuscitated point-and-click genre.
Despite the closeness to a certain sales day, the App Store description doesn’t mention any specific reason for the reduction in price, but does go on to describe stability improvements to a number of locations in the game.
The iPhone version of the classic LucasArts adventure picked up a mighty Platinum Award last year, and the iPad edition comes with the option of using the ‘proper’ controls or the ‘rubbish’ iPhone direct controls. Not that I’m trying to sway you as to which one is best.
