Resident Evil 4 revealed as iPad launch title
Award-winning survival-horror game ambles onto iPad
Resident Evil 4 has been confirmed as an iPad launch title, the game now available on the App Store.
Capcom has already brought a version of the survival-horror game to iPhone and iPod touch, though this iPad version includes a number of enhancements designed to take advantage of the more powerful device.
In addition to the higher resolution graphics, Resident Evil 4 boasts reconfigured controls and the promise of downloadable content - new costumes for protagonist Leon Kennedy - in the near future.
While we had issues with the controls in the iPhone version, hopefully the larger screen can serve this iPad version well.
Story mode is the main focus, though the unlockable Mercenaries and Coin Shoot gallery modes ought to provide some lasting value once you've completed the campaign.
It's not clear if the game is built on the original GameCube release or if it's an enhanced port of the iPhone edition. Cross your fingers for the former. If so, it could signal a wave of console ports at affordable prices.
Resident Evil 4 is available now for iPad at a price of $12.99.
