Rally Master Pro speeding onto iPad in September

Prolific racing game developer Fishlabs sent Pocket Gamer a telegram this morning informing us that its acclaimed Rally Master Pro is coming to iPad.

At the end of September, fans of tight curves, wet surfaces, and powersliding can get their rocks off in gloriously detailed 1024x768 Apple HD.

And if you’re one of the lucky blighters attending Gamescom later this month, Fishlabs will even introduce the beta version of the sim to your beady eyes in a purpose-built pitlane. Maybe.

Silver Award

Rally Master Pro on iPhone raced away with an impressive Silver Award 18 months ago, so the expectations for the big screen adaptation are higher than a Snoop Dogg groupie.

Sophisticated driving physics ensure that the treacherous terrain and inclement weather do actually have a tangible effect on the rally car’s handling and approach into corners.

Don’t worry, though - you aren’t alone on the 27 courses. Rather helpfully, a co-driver is assigned, who will guide you through the hairpins and over the crests (so long as he has done the appropriate recce, of course).

Ghost data

One of Pocket Gamer reviewer Tracy Erickson’s only complaints about the iPhone version was the omission of ghost data for asynchronous online competition.

Unfortunately, whilst a ghost function appears to be in place for personal besting in solo time trials, basic online leaderboards may have to suffice for those competitive types among you.

Other notable features include the manual replay function, allowing you to pore over that incredible piece of Scandinavian drift from unspeakable angles, and the new no-frills Arcade mode.

Rally Master Pro for iPad will career round the bend and onto the App Store in late September.
