On October 16th, prolific German designer Reiner Knizia will - for the first time in his career - simultaneously release the physical and digital editions of his brand-new boardgame.

The boardgame's called Qin, and it's set in China during the Warring States period (~475BC - 221BC). It follows the 250-year-long fight that resulted in victory for the Western state of Qin.

Before you start a game, you can choose between two different boards, and arm yourself with pagodas and special tiles that allow you to increase your land mass. In order to achieve victory, you have to place your pagodas onto the game's board and conquer villages.

Basically, you have to colonise China before your opponents do.

Elately, the company handling the digital port of this game, hasn't revealed what platforms Qin will be available on, but we presume that iPad and Android will both be in the mix.
