 IPAD NEWS - NEW RELEASE

Professor Layton and the Curious Village pops up on mobile in Japan

Back to the beginning

Summary News Review Screens Videos Articles Tips
Product: Professor Layton and the Curious Village | Publisher: Nintendo | Genre: Adventure
For: iPad   Also on: DS, Mobile

Professor Layton and the Curious Village EXHD for Smartphones, with its charming puzzles and over-complicated title, has arrived for iOS and Android in Japan.

This is a smartphone version of the original Professor Layton game, first made for DS. It adds a few new elements, including touch controls, new animations, and improved visuals.

But the main appeal here is to at last have the original series available on mobile, after several attempts to bring spinoffs to smartphones.

There's currently no word on when the game might make its way to a worldwide release, but hopefully we'll be seeing it before the year is out.

If you can't wait to get your hands on some puzzle-solving goodness, take a look at our review of Layton Brothers: Mystery Room or Layton's Mystery Journey, both available for Android and iOS.
