There are already been plenty of interesting on-device multiplayer games for iPad - see Foosball HD, Omium, Multipong: indeed, read our Top 10 multiplayer iPad games feature.

Here's another one that looks pretty interesting.

From new studio Koduco Games, which has been set up specifically to develop collaborative games, comes PongVaders.

Stuck in the middle

It's a two player co-op game where you each control a paddle and have to reflect enemy shots between yourselves, hitting the enemy formations in between.

You can volley shots between your paddles for super-charged attacks as well as collecting power ups. However, as you're each reflecting shots with your paddles, you have to make sure your actions don't blow up your friend's paddle. You can also tilt the iPad to shift the pull of gravity.

There are 10 levels to play through, with an online high score leaderboard system so you can see how well you're doing compared to the rest of the world.

Another 10 levels and more enemy types will be added in a future update, and in the meantime, the price of PongVaders has been dropped to 99c, €0.79 or 59p.

You can see how it plays in the following video.
