Pokemon GO's 0.35.0 and 1.5.0 update implements a Pokemon appraisal system

After the world of Pokemon GO has quietened down a little bit, Niantic is in the process of releasing its latest update for Android and iOS.

Versions 0.35.0 for Android and 1.5.0 for iOS will shortly implement a Pokemon appraisal system in which trainers (yourselves) can learn about a Pokemon's attack and defence capability from your Team Leader. This helps you decide which of your Pokemon has the best chance in battle.

Other than that, and with no sign yet of an improved tracking system on the horizon, all that's left in this update is a few tweaks and minor bot fixes. Though Niantic does state, 'We are still working hard on several new and exciting features to come in the future of Pokemon GO'.

Keep it up Niantic, you're doing a good job.
