Updated 11:25 AM 22nd July: Okay so it took a little longer than expected but today Pokemon GO finally launches in Japan.

Though the estimated launch date was earlier on this week, it appeared that Niantic had to move it on by a couple of days to prepare the servers a little extra for such a massive influx of players.

As reasons go for delay at least that's a pretty good one. Better to fix the servers now than have them drop an hour after launch mid-Charizard.

If you haven't already, grab your copy of Pokemon GO from iTunes here or Google Play.

Updated 09:59 14th July: Alas the day we've waited for has finally arrived. Despite the fact most of the world has been playing it for over a week now, Pokemon GO has just launched officially in the UK on Android and iOS.

Get it here now on iTunes, or here on Google Play.

Updated 18:35 13th July: It was announced today that Pokemon GO has officially launched in Germany ahead of the rest of Europe.

It may not be here yet but it's creeping closer. Here's to hoping Pokemon GO will arrive in the rest of Europe and the UK in the next couple of days.

Don't get too excited yet fellow Pokemon fans but it seems that Pokemon GO may well be within our grasp this week.

According to a new report from the Wall Street Journal, Pokemon GO may be set to release within the next few days in Japan, Europe and merry ol' Britain. Of course, people in these countries who jumped the gun will roll their eyes as they catch their thousandth Pidgey but for those waiting, patient and determined, your wait might be coming to a close.

Though there's no definite confirmation of this statement by Niantic, they have been right to hold off the release until they sort out their maddening server issues. Already defining itself as one of the most popular apps of all time, especially as it surpasses Tinder and creeps up on Twitter, there's no doubt their servers would feel the strain eventually.

However, if you physically cannot wait a single second longer feel free to check out our article on how to get Pokemon GO on your phones now.
