How to get 8 new Pokemon in Pokemon GO - Pichu, Togetic, Smoochum and more

The next 100 critters for Pokemon GO will be doled out slowly.

Case in point: only eight of them are currently available, and the rest will be added in the coming weeks and months.

All of the new Pokemon require an egg. A new egg, that is - only bought or collected after the most recent update. Take that egg and walk until it hatches and you might just get a brand new monster.

2 kilometre eggs now have a chance of hiding a Pichu, Cleffa, or Igglybuff. A 5km egg can sometimes contain a Togepi. And a 10km egg may have a Smoochum, Elekid, or Magby inside.

All of these are baby versions of existing Pokemon. Cleffa evolves into Clefairy, Smoochum grows up to be Jynx, and Elekid turns into Electabuzz.

All except Togepi: raise this critter's level and you'll get the all-new monster Togetic.
