Pocket Gamer and Friends

You may or may not know this, but there's more to the Pocket Gamer family than just this one site. Or you would do if I ever remembered to write these round-up features.

Regardless, it's the end of the week, so we're looking back at our favourite articles and things from our sister websites around the Steel Media family. Enjoy!

148Apps

Our boy Harry also heads up 148Apps, where he provides decidedly less spicy takes than he does here. Maybe he knows we'll let him get away with it here. Which means he's a much tougher boss than I am.

Either way, this week he cooked up some thoughts on what Nintendo's Labo might look like if it ever came to mobile, instead of just the Switch.

He raises some good points too, especially that cardboard and mobile have already met before. Remember Google Cardboard? You've probably got one crammed in the back of a drawer somewhere. Now imagine if Nintendo had made it. Sold.

AppSpy

Another week, another hidden gem, and Christian has picked yet another good 'un that you may have missed first time around: Sproggiwood.

It's an adorable roguelike which sees you starting out as a humble farmer fending off monsters with a pitchfork, before unlocking newer and better classes that won't get killed so easily.

Sproggiwood is accessible but not straight-up easy, so anyone looking to get into roguelikes is sure to find something to like here. And you can buy it right now! So that's good.

AppSpy Video

James has been beavering away on his videos again, and gosh, there are some absolute beauties this week.

For my money, Oddmar is the one to beat. Just look at it. What an absolute beauty of a game. You should definitely play it too, because we absolutely loved it.

If you're looking for something slower-paced but equally gorgeous, The Mooseman is a weird walking simulator-esque side-scrolling puzzler that's difficult to describe with words. Good thing there's a video to watch then really.
