It's the end of the week ladies and gents, and you know what that means – it's time for another Hot Five.

With a mixture of releases, promising games to keep an eye on, and some more sensitive subjects, it's looking like February is going to be a pretty busy month. But let's not talk, let's just get down to it.

Papery Planes glides out

With inspirations like Alto's Adventure, Papery Planes was one we were keen to have a look at. Judging by the fact it made it into this list, you guys were obviously keen too. As an unhurried high-score chaser, it may not have much in terms of substance but its minimalism is what makes it so charming. Check it out in the link above.

Battle strategically in Skyknights

As an intriguing mixture of real-time strategy and battle-focused puzzles, Skyknights has a striking low-poly art style that pops off the screen. It's still in development with no release date as of yet, so whether it'll still look that way once it kicks out into the world we're not sure. It's definitely worth checking out.

Dungeon Rushers is finally on its way

After setting my eyes, and grubby paws, on the game at Gamescom last year I've been awaiting Dungeon Rushers eagerly. Though I'm not usually a roguelike kinda gal, the game peaked my interest after I saw how collected and complex it was, and I'm very excited for the 23rd to drop.

Prevail launches on iOS...sort of

Earlier last weekend an odd event happened where the long-awaited side-scrolling exploration game, Prevail, suddenly dropped on the App Store. Only, it wasn't exactly up to scratch according to a bunch of bummed-out players.

According to Touch Arcade's interview with the developer's brother, Max, Prevail was in fact launched in an unfinished state, but not by accident or for a quick money scheme. Where Max stepped away from Johnny Two Shoes a few years ago, Josh continued with the game until he was diagnosed with a debilitating mental illness which made things rather difficult in terms of progression.

Ultimately the game that released was entirely legitimate, but since it wasn't quite playable, Max has hence pulled it from the App Store and has also suggested that people who purchased the game should seek a refund from Apple.

Say 'hello' to Fire Emblem: Heroes
On the other side of the scale, Nintendo's second mobile title has arrived in no time at all. Casting aside Super Mario Run's 'free at first, then pay for the full game' monetisation, Heroes has delved into mobile's free-to-play option. Surprisingly, after the backlash that came from SMR, Heroes reviews are pretty standard and a lot of people we've spoken to have enjoyed the game. That's always nice to see.
