iOS + Android + 3DS ...
Every two weeks, I like to look back at the three big topics of conversation that got everyone talking over the past 14 days. And mention them here. This round-up represents the perfect opportunity for you to catch up on the latest happenings from around the world of Pocket Gamer. So, yeah, competitions you might have missed, big features we've launched. That sort of thing.

In this particular round-up... a classic franchise is returning, Infinity Blade III is reviewed, there's some iOS 7 chat, and more.

The Big Three

1. James Pond might be coming back and... meh:

Not-as-good-as-you-remember Amiga platformer James Pond is set for a return on iOS, Android, Vita, and - if you're very lucky - the 3DS. Should the Pond Kickstarter campaign be successful, that is.

Andreas Litrop was first to comment on this 'rebirth', and noted excitedly that he "loved the soundtrack in that game".

But the positivity ended there.

Looking back, Steve3000 remembered that James Pond "was always an also-ran which didn't do anything particularly well". oooooomonkey backed up this claim: "I can't say it was ever a brilliant game and think it's about time it was just left to die".

Corky McButterpants believes there aren't "enough 30 somethings that are interested enough to fund it", either.

Disagree? Love the series? Join the conversation then, you wally.

2. These are the best 7 features of iOS 7. However, we've seen them elsewhere:

We really like iOS 7, so we decided to highlight the very best elements of Apple's updated mobile operating system in this feature.

As a lot of you have pointed out, however, many of these 'improvements' and 'refinements' are reminiscent of UI elements on other mobile platforms.

Aabhas Manandhar was unimpressed: "All new iPhone, with features Android has had for years, at multiple times the price."

Divisionbell pointed out that these were "all of the features of a Jailbroken phone".

Funem hopes that "next time Apple take people to court over copying the look and feel of something, they take a look at the changes in iOS 7, and think again".

Providing some balance, mind, Michael Surowiecki wrote: "I love the new features. Haters gonna hate but let's face it, iPhones are more secure and run more smoothly that [sic] any other mobile OS."

3. Infinity Blade III is out, and opinion is divided on the threequel:

The third entry in the fantasy-themed Punch-Out!! homage for mobiles is available on the App Store right now. And though it's hardly perfect, it's pretty darn good.

That's our opinion, anyway. The community's opinion on the matter is a little more complex.

Andy Marston wrote: "I've been playing it a fair bit today, and the new additions freshen it up nicely. I'll agree that repeating a large section because the final boss killed you is a little annoying (damn you Worker!) but that's a minor gripe."

S4ndm4n87, meanwhile, thought our review was "interesting. I'll skip this for now and wait for the inevitable price drop."

When it comes to the 7/10 score we gave Chair's game, Klouud missed the point somewhat of a 10-point scale. Deliberately so, mind.

"If it's more of the same then this game deserves an 11," Klouud said. Funem, by contrast, thinks "7 is a fair score, I played it and it's just really more of the same with a bit of a story thrown in."
