The founders of the retro game publisher DotEmu, Xavier Liard and Romain Tisserand, have broken off and created a new game publisher.

It's called Playdigious and its first project is bringing the Bronze Award-winning PS Vita / PS4 arcade game Pix The Cat to Nvidia Shield, Android TV, Android tablets, and iPad.

This represents what the focus of Playdigious will be, which is to publish high-quality premium games and "mid/hardcore freemium games" for mobile, tablets, and TVs.

The publisher aims to bring Pix The Cat to the platforms outlined this autumn.

If you're not familiar with Pix The Cat, it's by Pastagames (know for Rayman Jungle Run) and involves rescuing ducklings from a chaotic maze-world.

Our reviewer said that it's an "arcade experience so authentic it'll have you shoving 10p coins in your Vita's cartridge slot."
