[Update] Konami soft-launches PES Club Manager on iOS to go head-to-head with Sega's Football Manager
Updated on April 16th, at 10:55: Looks like the game is also available on Android as a beta and the soft-launched iOS edition is also available in The Netherlands.

Ooh, now proceedings are getting a bit spicy.

With the launch of Sega's premium Football Manager Classic 2015 this week, and now Konami soft-launching PES Club Manger, we have a little competition in the football management game space.

We love a bit of a dual over here, don't we? Yes, we do.

So what does this new PES Club Manager (which is only available in the Australian App Store at the moment) got going for it? And can it possibly top Football Manager Classic 2015?

For starters, it seems that PES Club Manager actually thinks it's SimCity (SoccerCity?). Look at the screenshot below and you'll see what I mean. Yes, you can build your own club house and dally around a little football town.

PES Club Manager

OK, cool, I guess it can't get much worse than SimCity Buildit, right? Or ... can it?

That aside, as with Football Manager Classic 2015, PES Club Manager has 3D matches. That's a new feature to the genre on mobile in both games, so I guess they're level in that regard.

PES Club Manager also has over 5,000 licensed players, lets you build a dream team, and obviously lets you make all the big decisions for them.

In fact, the main biggest difference between the two games is that one costs £14.99 / $19.99, and the other is free to play.

PES Club Manager is the free to play one. So, if that's a business model you're okay with then perhaps it's the winner. Except it's not out globally yet, so you'll have to wait before crowning it.

Otherwise, if you don't mind paying the price, I guess Football Manager Classic 2015 is your winner. And, hey, you can buy it right now, too.

In any case, we'll let you know when PES Club Manager is launched around the world later this year.
