If you're looking for things to do to fill your time over the long weekend, you could do worse than check out Rittenhouse's new iPad game Ordinarium.
Developed using the Game Salad package, it mixes simple gameplay with a colourful art style in an experience that's more than the sum of its part.
Round and round
You play an octopus-type creature that's attached to a gear floating on-rails through a strange and wonderful world.
You control its 360 degree rotation with the left virtual joystick, pressing the touch button on the right to fire out your tongue to eat your prey when they are in range.
Each level is completed as you fill your stomach meter, but as the game progresses, you also have to ensure that you're not spotted by larger creatures whose eyes will appear in various parts of the screen, as well as avoiding other hazards such as cogs.
Certainly quirky, Ordinarium is now available for iPad, priced 99c, €0.79 or 69p.
