If you like Microgue, you'll love Ms. Spell. It's by the same developer, and features similar mechanics.
You play as Ms. Spell, and have to navigate randomly generated levels battling monsters and casting spells.
As you can expect, its turn-based, pixelated, and fun. How fun? We asked the App Army just that, and here's what they had to say.
So far it's good. It reminds me of Redungeon and Rustbucket with its 8bit style. It's a turn based dungeon crawler. You pick up new spells by collecting pages on each level.
This game is boring. You go around using boring power ups and tapping around. There's nothing special. Every floor is the same. Run to the exit and tap the screen. It's boring and I find no joy in playing this game. There's just not enough here.
I like the idea of this game and the graphics and polish are great. Unfortunately it's just not for me. I got to the end on my second try after about 15 minutes after first opening the app.
I get that you're probably supposed to replay it lots of times, but I'm more of a complete it once kind of player so it didn't really appeal to me.

Ms. Spell has very minimalistic 8bit style graphics. It's colorful and very appealing to my eye. I've never played a roguelike before, but this interested me and seems like a good introduction.
The various spells you pick up offer some strategy and without careful planning, it's pretty easy to die. I like this one!

This game is definitely a step up from Microgue. Extremely similar play styles, but a completely different set of enemies which all seem to have the same movement pattern.
The addition of spells makes the game a bit more tricky to predict since you don't know which spell you'll get. I like it, but I don't know how far I'll get. I never completely finished Microgue either.
I completed this on my first game. It's very short and easy. It's different every time you play so it's not over yet, the game is still afoot!
The graphics are too cute and I think would appeal to children a lot. For the price it's not bad but be aware before you buy.
This game reminds me of Microgue! Not too difficult, but you can't plan the wrong move, or else you will end up losing the game. The random spells generated are unique, and there are some spells that I don't think are really useful. Well, what more can i say? This game is good for killing time!
