The iOS and Android edition of blocky world-building phenomenon Minecraft will get infinite worlds, caves, wolves, and loads more on July 10th, in the enormous 0.9.0 update.

This feature bump will also introduce new blocks and items (including Monster Eggs and huge mushroom blocks), new flowers, new mobs, (including Endermen and Mooshrooms) and lakes, vines, and monster rooms.

Biomes from the PC version, including mesas, jungles, swamps, and extreme hills, will be included. As well as abandoned mineshafts, villages, and other intriguing locations for you to explore.

There's also a new interaction button. ("Never accidentally punch a sheep again!", says Mojang's Daniel Kaplan) and plenty of bug fixes.

Usually, Mojang waits for Apple to approve the iOS update before launching the Android patch. Whatever the case, we'll give you a shout next Thursday when both versions have been updated.

"Now it’s time to work on the next update," says Kaplan. "We promise it won’t take as long as this one!"
