The new update to Minecraft Pocket Edition adds a number of new features. The big one is add-ons, which will let enterprising players make their own models, textures, maps, and mobs.

Installing a mod on iOS is easy, provided that the creator has packaged them as a .mcpack or .mcworld file. If they have, follow on.

Website

Go to a website that contains add-ons. We're going to the official Minecraft site to download one of the sample add-ons available right now.

Downloading

Click download and then wait. It's downloading, don't worry! Safari just does a terrible job of telling you: you need to watch the blue bar in the URL bar and wait for it to fill up.

Open PE

When it does, you'll be taken to a screen like this. Click "Open in Minecraft PE" and you'll be whisked away to the game.

World

And the world will load!

We'll update this guide, and provide more assistance, when more add-ones are available and when we figure out how to make our own!
