Midnight Star, the ambitious touchscreen FPS from the co-founder of Bungie, is out for iPad and iPhone in Ireland

Intriguing looking FPS Midnight Star has been soft launched in Ireland. The game, which is set 150 years in the future, mixes together sci-fi trappings, shooting gallery-style blasting, and gorgeous graphics.

We went hands-on with the game at GDC earlier in the year, and we liked what we saw. How much of the depth that piqued our interest in that first play through has made it into the version now available in Ireland remains to be seen.

There's certainly some pedigree behind the game. Bungie co-founder Alex Seropian and industry legend Tim Harris have been beavering away at the game for more than two years, and the soundtrack comes courtesy of System of a Down's Serj Tankian.

We're pretty excited about this one, and if you're in Ireland you can grab it right now for nothing. We should have some more hands-on impressions up on the site pretty soon as well.
