Team Meat's Mew-Genics is now on hold, so don't expect the bonkers cat-lady sim to pop up on the App Store any time soon.

Speaking to Joystiq at PAX over the weekend, Tommy Refenes from Team Meat explained that the game has been put on the back boiler until it becomes a little more "coherent".

Refenes stated that the dev has been a little too chatty about features in the game, and that stuff it's announced has already been chopped from the final product.

"Every idea that we've first said has expanded into this larger idea. And we're like, 'we need to shut the fuck up' and actually get it to a point where we can say, 'no, this is what it's going to be when it comes out.'"

Meat comes first

That means that the recently announced Super Meat Boy Forever is going to take precedence, and will "definitely" come out before Mew-Genics now.

Of course, the iOS version of Super Meat Boy was put on hiatus while Team Meat worked on Mew-Genics, so who knows what we'll actually end up with?

We'll keep you up to date with developments as and when we hear about them, but as of right now, Mew-Genics is looking like a pretty distant prospect.
