OrangePixel's Meganoid returns as an expanded remake in 2017

Meganoid was one of OrangePixel's early pixel art titles, bringing intense precision platforming to mobile in 2011. Now the game is returning later this year, as a remake expanded greatly with a improved visuals and remixed stages.

Meganoid drops you into dangerous gauntlets of turrets, lasers, and explosions. To survive each challenge level, you must run and leap across crumbling platforms, collecting diamonds for a high score.

The remake's major influence is Spelunky, so levels will be a hybrid of procedural generation and hand-designed sections. You'll also be able to gather powerful items, such as bombs, jetpacks, zapper guns, EMPs, and double-jumping anti-gravity boots.

Meganoid will be coming to mobile sometime this year. You can follow the game's development on OrangePixel's site.
