Updated on July 8th, at 13:55: The game is now live and available from the App Store here, for free.

Magic Duels has got loads of play modes, a whole skill quest training system, and an enhanced deck builder to help you get your cards together.

Watch out for those requirements, though. This 1.02GB app requires an iPhone 5S or better, or and iPad mini 2 or iPad Air or newer. Yikes!

Wizards of the Coast will launch its new free to play card battler, Magic Duels: Origins, on the App Store later today. And it will arrive on both iPad and iPhone.

This game will put an end to the annual tradition of releasing a new Magic game. Instead, it will be a persistent, evolving game that gets new cards and decks in regular updates.

And, as Peter explained in his video preview of the game, every card in Origins can be gotten for free. Or you can buy them with in-app purchases, if you prefer.

We'll let you know when the game launches (and drop a big review on you, at the same time). But, for now, Magic fans should keep an eye on the App Store.
