To get you up and running with the latest features in MU Origins’ recent monster update, we’ve put together the following content guide so that you won’t be left floundering the next time you dive into battle.

Battle Core

One of the most exciting additions to come along with update 1.7 is the brand new, all-server event, Battle Core. Its premise is fairly straight forward – a race to team victory, with the winners being the first team to reach 1,000 points. The system keeps the playing field as fair as possible, assessing the level of each camp and finding a similarly well matched set of opponents – so whether you like it or not, skill will always be the deciding factor when it comes to victory. Points are earned by vanquishing opponents and gathering as many chalices as possible. You’ll be richly rewarded for your efforts too with large amounts of EXP, fame points and achievements received with every victory you notch up, with up to thirty times the amount of rewards available for the first three victories of the day. Take a few losses though and you can expect a drop-off in prizes - 50% with every defeat, in fact – so it’s going to take some skills to pay the bills.

Battlefield of Heroes

Another all-server event making its way to the land of MU is the colossal PVP battle mode, Battlefield of Heroes. Now you’d be forgiven for thinking that PVP is just a straight forward no thrills one on one mode – but you’d still be wrong. Battlefield of Heroes is in fact a gargantuan 100 players team battle mode, with two teams of up to 50 warriors competing with each other for points, not just in battle, but also in mining and boss hunting. Naturally, the more points you have, the more rewards you’ll receive.

The event is open every Tuesday and Friday from 21:30-22:00 so make sure to register on these days from 21:00-21:30 to get involved.

New Dungeons – ‘Harmageddon’ and ’Elemental War’

In most MMORPG titles, Server Dungeons are (quite aptly) where you’ll make your bones, as well as break a few along the way. And MU Origin is no exception. The latest update comes with the Harmageddon dungeon, where your team (of up to 5 players) must battle past the Four Nights to summon the final boss Harmageddon, which you will have to dispatch in under 15 minutes to emerge victorious – so here’s a top tip, don’t wait around.

Elemental War doesn’t feature a final boss per se, but every wave of enemies you face will certainly feel like one. In total there are over 30 waves of enemies to defeat in this relentless dungeon event. Each wave will present a progressively harder challenge but the prizes will also increase with each one you successfully dispatch, so your good deeds won’t go unrewarded.

Soul Stone and Relic Systems

Sensitive to that all important need of every RPG player to upgrade their characters at every available opportunity, Webzen has introduced several new ways for players to bestow some extra buff on their favourite warrior with the newly introduced Soul Stone and Relic systems. The Soul Stone system will grant elemental stats to your character. It also lets you get creative, allowing you to combine the Soul Stones (Orbium, Tris, and Quadion) together, to unlock new possibilities.

In order to retrieve the precious stones, you’ll need to use Soul Dust (obtained in the Elemental War and Harmageddon events) or Diamonds to mine for them.

The Relic system lets you increase your stats upon obtaining the 6 pieces that make up the four relics (Golden Grail, Golden Crown, Golden Sword, and Golden Scriptures).. As each piece is enhanced by acquiring fragments obtained in the new dungeon and Battlefield of Heroes events, you’ll receive a powerful boost in your stats.

Upgrades and fixes

No update is complete without a making few extra upgrades and much welcome tweaks. Luckily, MU Origin’s latest update doesn’t just look to fix a few bug’s here and there, but delivers improvements across the board, with stack limits of in-game items like Lucky Flare’s and Condor Feather’s vastly increased, new pets (Mermaid, Fafnir, and Magma Fist) and a costume system to update the appearance of your character. You’ll also definitely want to check out the Daily Benefits system, which now makes those daily tasks a breeze.
