Lords of the Fallen will be familiar to any Dark Souls superfans. Some would call it a clone, whereas I'd call it a… yeah no I'd also call it a clone.

Now though, developer CI Games is giving it a shot on mobile, with an Infinity Blade-esque slash and swipe entry called Blades of Fate.

It's been simplified for the platform, making it a little less punishing than the console title, but it's retained the gorgeous art and lighting, and the fighting was responsive enough to be pretty good!

You can choose ranged mages or warrior brutes - and you'll have to change your play style accordingly. There's also a PvP mode in the works, though the build I played at gamescom 2016 didn't include any multiplayer whatsoever.

Nevertheless, I'm feeling positive about this one. You can check out Lords of the Fallen: Blades of Fate for yourself when it launches for free on the App Store and Google Play in October.
