Like Candy Crush?

The first thing to learn about Legend of Solgard is that, well, it's actually a bit more of a puzzle game, than an RPG in battles.

Moving through stages you're defeating enemies, but you're essentially matching colours to do this, with your variety of monsters under your control.

They are all vaguely colour coded, and you can arrange them into vertical lines of three to create a monster ready for battle.

Block superiority

Lines of vertical three are the best and often quickest way to perform a quick attack, but they're not the most effective way to do it.

You can create plus shapes, L shapes and T shapes, all of which will add even more attack power to your units.

On top of that, you can increase the power of your attacking units. Add two more standard units behind them to power them up with a further attack boost, or put two vertical stacks next to one another to create a four piece block, which are bigger, stronger units.

Two units horizontally behind that larger unit will give it even more power.

Picking a lane

The lane your units are in will dictate where they attack, and therefore, their positioning becomes incredibly important as you progress.

At first, you'll just be tasked with taking down enemies in lanes and a giant ice block at the end, which you can be in any lane to attack.

But in some stages you'll be going against bosses which move, and you'll need to specifically use the lanes the boss is in in order to attack it, so be wise with your character placements.

Support sacrifices

You have a large supply of minions, and they should be used to their fullest. Sometimes, that means a necessary sacrifice.

When you're on your last move, you can simply summon the minions you have stacked up to protect you from enemy attacks, assuming you're being left vulnerable.

Though before doing this, try to leave some convenient two unit stacks or blocks around, and hopefully summoning will fill in the blanks for you.
