Updated on May 6th, at 11:09: You won't need to wait long, as it turns out. Legend of Grimrock just popped up in New Zealand, which means the game will be available worldwide at midnight.

It will cost £3.99 / $4.99, takes up 410MB of space, and you can grab it here. We'll have a full review for you, soon.

Original story follows…

Legend of Grimrock

The iPad edition of first-person dungeon diver Legend of Grimrock has been approved for submission to the App Store and "will be available in a few days".

Your goal is to get your party of four out of the dungeon, by battling creatures in real-time tactical tussles and solving tricky puzzles. Exploration is key, and perception is more valuable than a sharp sword.

While the game makes some concessions for those who didn't grow up on dungeon crawlers, veterans of the genre can always grab a stack of grid paper and turn on Oldschool Mode, which disables the automap.

Grimrock 2

The game has 'Overwhelmingly Positive' user reviews on Steam, and went down well with critics too. We'll let you know when it hits the App Store for iPad.
