JYDGE has been coming for a while and after watching its successes grow on Steam and Nintendo Switch it's time for iOS users to rejoice as you'll be able to get your hands on it January 18th.

As a bit of a spinoff to the heavily popular Neon Chrome, it follows a lot of the same roguelite patterns like permadeath and procedurally generate levels. In it you'll be able to build your own JYDGE and with it build your ideal play-style as you go. Whether you want to assault criminals head-on or go about keeping order in Edenbyrg stealthily, it all starts with what you're putting into your cybernetic bod.

Having reviewed the game already on Nintendo Switch, it was praised as being "Neon Chrome's younger, sillier, more gleefully violent brother" and "a fun, frantic and challenging take on the twin-stick shooter", but how will it work on touch screen?

Since comparisons were made heavily between Neon Chrome and JYDGE, we can only assume that it'll run similarly on iOS. Given that NC was giving a stonking Silver Award, saying that because it doesn't hold your hand the way more casual shooters tend to, "You're going to get sucked into its rhythms of killing and numbers. And you're going to have a lovely old time doing it."

Whether you're anxious about its final performance or not, I'd say there's a lot to look forward to for those eager for a hardcore and addictive top-down shooter.

Just to add a little more sweetness to this already fantastic news, JYDGE is currently available for pre-order on the App Store at 50% off its full price of £9.99/$9.99.
