Hyperforma is a clever and unique cyberpunk arcade which seriously stretches the genre
And it's out now on iOS
Nord Unit's newest iOS game, Hyperforma, snuck out today and it's a pretty interesting mix of styles. If you fancy picking it up, you can grab it for £4.99/$4.99 on the App Store.
Hyperforma is a hardcore cyberpunk arcade with 3D puzzle elements that push the boundaries of its genre. When it's inspired by the work of William Gibson, Dan Simmons, and Peter Watts, it's hard not to have high hopes for it.
Your overall goal is to reach the core of an enormous ancient network to uncover the secrets of a forgotten civilisation. In order to reach that goal you've got to hack into the secured Forms and interact with the Titanic Interface, solving a variety of tricky puzzles as you go.
The coolest part about this is, though it's following a familiar block-breaking gameplay mechanic, you can rotate the target from 2D to 3D, opening up more areas to attack to get to the core. You've also got hacker's skills on your side to help you out and RPG elements to choose between. Phew.
With ten chapters to work through, each one bringing new gameplay mechanics to improve variety, there's a lot to chew on here. This probably all sounded super confusing, but take a look at the video above to see the game in action.
