Gudetama Tap lets you cook and poke gross, weird egg creatures

You might not be familiar with Sanrio's weird egg character Gudetama, but it's become something of a cultural phenomenon – and it's got its own game now, to boot.

Called Gudetama Tap, it sees you cooking up new variations of the character, then tapping them to get more points to cook up more eggs. Sometimes they get mad at you, which seems reasonable given the amount of times you'll be tapping their lazy bodies.

If you're not sure what the hell any of this means, Gudetama (literally "lazy egg") is a depressed egg creature from the minds behind Hello Kitty. It's proven popular due to the fact that being depressed in 2018 is entirely relatable, and it has a weird butt, I guess?

Having played it for a few minutes, it's definitely got some appeal for the idle tapping market, though its menu is a little convoluted. And if you don't really "get" Gudetama, it probably won't help you understand it any better.

Either way, you can download Gudetama Tap for free on Google Play or the App Store right now.
