Oi, all you wannabe Canadian gods out there, DeNA has soft-launched GodFinger 2 in your App Store.

This is the sequel to the just-above-average 2010 god game GodFinger, obviously. It seems to be more of the same world-creating, follower-obtaining, planet defending stuff.

You choose your elemental affinity - maybe ice or fire - and then watch your planet grow accordingly. Next you'll need to shape your planet and defend it from invaders.

But the meat of the game is in growing and managing your followers.

You can create new types such as barbarians, archers, and pyromancers this time around. You'll still need to ensure they're kept happy, and rewarded for their accomplishments.

We weren't a fan of the first game's rather weak social game aspirations. It wanted you to tell your friends on in the game and social media what you were doing - it was all that kind of thing.

It's in how you're able to interact with other people that GodFinger 2 seems to have potentially improved the most.

Now you're able to take your followers to other people's worlds, battle their followers, and steal their resources. You're able to essentially conquer other players this way.

It certainly makes the game a little more competitive and interesting, if less friendly.

You can download GodFinger 2 on the Canadian App Store right now.

If you're not in Canada you can create a Canadian iTunes account to get it. Otherwise you'll have to wait until the game's global release.
