[Update] The PG Readers' iOS and Android Game of the Week - your vote needed
|
Updated on September 30th, at 12:35: The votes have been counted, checked, tallied, re-tallied, checked again, counted again, shouted at, and counted for a third time.

So, I can now reveal that this week's winner is Dead on Arrival 2.

This Android blaster is all about shooting as many zombies as you can. It's a top-down twin-stick job with smooth controls and some pretty impressive graphics. Zombie gore has rarely looked quite so glistening.

You can play through the game with your friends, too. And as you can imagine, shooting down waves of zombies is way more fun with some real-life humans by your side.

Dead on Arrival 2 is an Android exclusive at the moment. Furthermore, it's free-to-play, so it won't cost you a penny to find out if its worthy of its crown.

Every week, thousands of new games hit the iOS App Store and Google Play on Android. Trying to find the diamonds in the rough is no easy task, let us assure you.

We like to think we do a pretty good job with our news articles, mid-week round-ups, expert reviews, and comprehensive features, mind.

But, now we want to know what YOU think.

Today, we're going to ask you to pick the best game that was released on iOS and Android from the past week (from the nominations below), and then we'll announce the winner in a glamorous article next Monday.

There are loads of places to vote. Leave a comment at the bottom of this article; answer the poll on Facebook; or write and release a psychedelic LP, recording your answer in a secret track that's only unlocked if you play the record backwards.

The nominations
Trouserheart (iPad, iPhone) Cartoony hack 'n' slasher that's a lot more difficult than its gorgeous, brightly coloured visuals might suggest.
Boson X (iPad, iPhone) Brilliantly twitchy endless-runner in which you collect energy to generate new particles to aid your escape.
Pocket Trains (Android, iPad, iPhone) Train sim from NimbleBit. Imagine Pocket Planes but with trains, and you get the general idea.
Shadowrun Returns (Android, iPad) Tactical RPG set in a dystopian future where magic and technology exist together. Elves and shotguns are the order of the day.
Dead on Arrival 2 (Android) Kill an incredible amount of zombies in this free-to-play top-down twin-stick version of the undead apocalypse.
Final Fantasy V (Android; previously on iPad, iPhone) The classic RPG finally makes its way to Android devices. Expect gorgeous sprites and plenty of adventure.
FIFA 14 (Android, iPad, iPhone) EA's legendary football game returns for the new season with touch controls, Ultimate Team, and lots more.
Autumn Dynasty (Android; previously on iPad, iPhone) This gorgeous-looking RTS with intuitive controls and clever scenarios finally makes its bow on Android.
