Best new iOS and Android games this week: Sunless Sea, Death Road to Canada, Card Thief and more
Cards, Corsairs, and Canada
Hello, and welcome to our regular look at the best mobile games of the past seven days.
Every week we run through the best and most interesting games to have hit the App Store and Google Play Store.
This week we've got a couple of gems that aren't just iOS-only, as has been the unfortunate trend so far in 2017, but iPad-only. But if you've got one of Apple's tablets, they're well worth getting.
Android fans don't have an awful lot to choose from this week, but that's okay. There's only one game you need to be playing, as you'll see.
Have you been playing anything different this week? Let us know in the comments below.
Sunless SeaBy Failbetter Games - buy on iPad
This gothic exploration game is as weird as its wonderful. Set sail into the murky waters of the fantastical Fallen London universe. You'll die a lot, but learn something new every time.
The Elder Scrolls: LegendsBy Bethesda Game Studios - buy on iPad
Here's another brave soul daring to take on Hearthstone at the fantasy CCG game. But that daring soul is none other than Bethesda, with its own hit The Elder Scrolls universe. It's a darned good attempt, too.
Death Road to CanadaBy Madgarden - buy on iOS
Death Road to Canada is a dungeon crawler with a deliciously modern undead twist. Make your way across the US with a car-full of allies, making perilous stops for supplies along the way.
Super Mario RunBy Nintendo - download on Android
Android fans rejoice! Super Mario Run has finally launched for Google's mobile platform, having hit iOS back in December. In case you missed it, this is one of the slickest and most compelling autorunner platformers available.
Card ThiefBy Tiny Touch Tales - buy on iOS
This follow-up to the quite wonderful Card Crawl has a similarly quirky art style, and again riffs off classic card game rules. This time, however, Tiny Touch Tales builds a surprisingly nuanced stealth game out of such simple components.
