Furistas Cat Cafe review - A cute, gentle idle management game for all the family

| Furistas Cat Cafe

It is a fact universally known that a person without a cat is miserable and must immediately surround themselves with as many cats as possible.

Furistas Cat Cafe won't fully scratch that itch, but as an idle management game, it does a remarkable job of keeping you as entertained as a kitty would be chasing a laser pen.

It's full of cute felines with silly names, plenty of activities to keep you engaged beyond the base experience, and a simple but effective progression which constantly rewards you just for sticking around.

Furistas is a pun

You star out your life at Furistas Cat Cafe with a small room equipped with a cat-sized cushion and one cat to sit in said cushion.

Customers come in at the top of the screen, and you match the cat with the right customer based on their preferred personality, then watch as they cuddle and player with the kitty to their heart's content.

Once they're done, they love a small thank you note containing some love hearts, a currency which grants you a loot crate once you get enough, and the cycle begins anew.

While they're playing, you might need to clean up some dirty paw prints, serve your customer a drink, or give your other cats some attention to earn some additional coins which can be spent on furniture.

Like barista?

It's a very simple gameplay loop, but it works perfectly here. You're never at a loss for how to proceed, and there's a near-constant flow of customers to satisfy, so you're almost always growing your heart counter.

The mini-games are super short and easy, but they give your brain a diversion from watching the cuddling action, and let you make the café a little nicer for your new customers.

Level up and you'll unlock new cats and new items to put in your café, and your cats can also be levelled up to provide longer experiences with higher-levelled customers, earning you more hearts as a result.

You get it

It's simple, adorable fun that you can pick up and put down whenever you like without consequence, and its low-stakes gameplay means that just about anyone can have a pleasant time with it.

Of course, that simplicity isn't going to be for everyone. Don't go into Furistas Cat Cafe expecting a deep management sim or RPG elements, and don't expect to lose your entire life digging into its intricacies.

But as a gentle pick-me-up during the day, or a way to wind down at night, you can't go far wrong. This is a super cute, super fun game which will keep you satisfied time and time again during the brief periods you play it.
